Madonna, Lady Gaga visit homeless LGBT youth at Ali Forney Center

This Thanksgiving holiday, LGBTQ youth at New York‘s Ali Forney Center were visited by not one, but two pop superstars — Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Madonna stopped by on Thanksgiving day with her son David and daughter Mercy James, praising the Center’s role in keeping LGBTQ youth safe and helping them become independent.

“This center protects LGBT Youth from the harms of homelessness and empowers them to reclaim their lives,” Madonna wrote on Instagram. “Each year the Ali Forney Center provides care for over 1,200 youth who are rejected by their family due to their LGBT identity.”

But it’s not just a roof.

“AFC provides these youth with tools they need to become independent and more importantly,” she continued, “AFC provides these youth with the love and support they are denied by their families. Because everyone deserves to be loved and everyone deserves a home.”

The next day, Lady Gaga made a visit to the AFC, where she said she spent a “beautiful morning” giving gifts and leading a group meditation.

“I’m here because I want to be here,” Gaga said while at the center. “And I’m here because I want this to affect other people around the world and to remind them that when they are kind, it not only makes the other person feel good, but it makes me feel good too.”

She also performed “Million Reasons” for the youth, urging them to “keep the faith.” Have a listen below.
