Panic! At The Disco’s tweet nails how easy it is to use correct pronouns

Entertainment Weekly reporter Dana Schwartz had no clue she was about to set the web on fire with one snarky tweet about Panic! At The Disco, but she did – especially after the band retweeted it with official approval.

Schwartz’s tweet poked fun of the band to make a point about using the correct pronouns for transgender and non-binary people, some of whom prefer “they/them” instead of typical gendered pronouns like “he/him” or “she/her.”

“Stop pretending like it’s at ALL hard to use “they/them” pronouns when we’ve all agreed to call Brendon Urie “Panic! At The Disco” even though we know it’s just him,” she tweeted.

While Urie performs with other musicians, he is the only actual member of the band and is regularly teased about it. (Think LCD Soundsystem – another “band” that’s just a guy named James Murphy. He performs with other musicians too.)

So what did Urie think of the tweet? An LGBT rights supporter who has talked about his fluid sexuality, he gave it the official Panic! At The Disco seal of approval, of course.
