Even Trump’s favorite poll shows that he’s isn’t ‘winning’ America’s approval

Donald Trump started out unpopular, and as time passes, and the walking disaster of his presidency continues on, he only becomes more unpalatable to most Americans.

This is made starkly clear in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, where he hit a record low of a mere 39% approval. 61% say they disapprove of the job he is doing in the conservative poll, which had been Trump’s favorite. Probably less so now.

Trump had pointed to his relatively high approval rating from Rasmussen on Twitter earlier in the year, while other major polls showed his support waning.

The numbers match Gallup’s, which has Trump at 37 percent approval and 59 percent disapproving. That is just one point away from tying Trump’s highest disapproval rating from Gallup.

The news comes on the heels of the ousting of Reince Priebus, and on the same day as it was announced that Anthony Scaramucci is likewise out of a job. All of this despite Trump’s continued claims that the White House is not in disarray, despite all evidence to the contrary.

It also coincides with another poll showing that Trump is tarnishing America’s reputation on the world stage.

In fact, the falloff is astonishing. As the Pew Research Center reports:

Trump and many of his key policies are broadly unpopular around the globe, and ratings for the U.S. have declined steeply in many nations. According to a new Pew Research Center survey spanning 37 nations, a median of just 22% has confidence in Trump to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs. This stands in contrast to the final years of Barack Obama’s presidency, when a median of 64% expressed confidence in Trump’s predecessor to direct America’s role in the world.

America is still seen as a country worthy of praise for its people, culture, and civil liberties, Pew also found, although one wonders if those numbers will also start to suffer with the ensuing years of the Trump presidency. That is, assuming he makes it that long.

Another interesting tidbit of information found in the Pew poll: America’s reputation is on the upswing in one notable country.

Can you guess?

That’s right, it’s Russia.
