"Am I a person? Am I a machine? Am I a war hero? Or am I a criminal?"- That would be probably be my favorite movie quotes of all. Just watched the movie a few days back. Outstanding movie. Benedict and Kiera left me speechless.

Without doubt definitely one of the best films I have ever seen. Cumberbatch  should, if there is any justice in this world win an Oscar for his role as Alan Turning.

hmmmm Naming the Enigma-breaking machine "Christopher" after Turing's childhood friend. In actuality, this electromechanical machine was called 'Victory'. Victory was a British Bombe machine, which drew a spiritual legacy from a design by the Polish Cryptanalyst Marian Rejewski. Rejewski designed a machine in 1938 called bomba kryptologiczna which exploited a particular, but temporary, weakness in German operating procedures. A new machine with a different strategy was designed by Turing (with a key contribution from mathematician Gordon Welchman, unmentioned in the film) in 1940. More than 200 British Bombes were built under the supervision of Harold Keen of the British Tabulating Machine Company.[85][87]

there are so many people saying they gave alan turing a straight love interest in this movie (aka joan), but that is not the case. it is made clear in the movie he is gay. he tried to keep this a secret, because it was illegal at the time. the fact he did not want joan to leave because she is smart and could contribute to solving the enigma, and because she more or less understood him (women and homosexuals were both being discriminated against) does not mean he was attracted to her in that way. however, everyone seems to whine about that. i say, you are blinded by heteronormativity then. they don't just neglect alan being gay. it is not the focus of the film, but they also certainly did not make him straight! so stop whining about that and actually go watch the movie.

The imitation game: AKA England don't care if you save millions of lives and win a world war, you still deserve to die in shame only because you were a homosexual. Only to get a posthumous "royal pardon" in 2013. If you know a more hypocrite nation out there, let me know..
