I found this movie on vhs at my library years before having the internet. I was trying to find gay themed movies and at the time there were far better ones with story to them at the hmv back of store sections. I now think about how daring this movie was at the time it was made, and art style to it.

For it's time it was ofcourse groundbreaking and shocking film, but basically it's got no script or storyline and is quite boring to look at at times. The director explained himself; he just started filming the first scene in some old foto shoot sets and just made things up as he went along. It's a shame cos most of the imagary is beautiful, very poetic and suggestive. A real script could have done wonders. I got the feeling french artists ' Pierre and Gilles ' were hugely inspired by him, just as Fassbinder with his film ' Querelle ' .

Pure beauty. A film way ahead of its time. What a great shame there were no credits. It must be so nice now for the youth to look back on it, now in his 60s and have those wonderful memories and images.

@DerSacred Narcissism. What a great thing, huh?! "If you had some form of refinement". LOOOOOL! U mad. Btw, ever heard of the term "being subjective"? I'm sorry to tell you, but your taste is not the general, objective opinion. Unfortunately...

@blindmansarrow Hipsters getting easily butthurt because of criticism. Deja vu! And no, I'm a big fan of James Bidgood. I'm more fond of "Water Colors" though. Btw, got some more recommendations? I'm more into Joseph Beuys and George Plimpton though.
  • testit01 2012-01-12 08:26:32
@blindmansarrow What is there "to get"? Yeah, he's a male prostitute who's dreaming away to other (prehistoric) places. And he's "hot and gay and smoking a cig and blah blah blah". Nice one, hipster morons! It's quite ironic (in a non-hipster way) that you happen to have "blind man" in you name. You seem like all other hipsters who are completely without a individual thought and just follow the flock like you were all in the mainstream - which you happen to have become, btw.

@iainhammer this wonderfully mysterious movie is indebted to James Bidgood...besides, Kenneth Anger made also fulminant movies ;).
