    it's ironic that the actress who played Maggie was in the gay film Shelter, and the main actor was in another film I believe as a gay guy called Joey sharing an apartment with two other gay guys (one of them coloured) My sincere condolences and love to the victims, friends and families of Orlando, we're all with you XXX

    Great film. I can kind of relate to Maggie. I was friends with a guy my first year in college 1988 & I rather fancied him not realizing he was gay. Like, we became friends because of a mutual interest in roller skating (dancing) FFS. He was totally flamboyant - gayer than a Judy Garland sing-a-long like Eric but I was just too blind and stupid to see it. When he told me I felt like a fool - embarrassed mainly. I didn't shun him like Maggie shunned Eric though. I reckon a lot of people could relate to this film even if they aren't gay.

    I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and I already want to watch it again. The costumes were sO FREAKING AMAZING I absolutely LOVE them and honestly wish they were in my closet. Such a good movie... c:

    One of my favorites. The fact that he never makes up with Maggie always gets to me, but I guess it's realistic. Definitely a great movie, very relatable.

    Was this movie really made in 1998? Because the video quality looks like it was actually made in the year it's set in (1984). Maybe that was the point?
