I mean evolve to RATIONAL practices NOT western practices!!!! Westerners had so many irrational practices centuries ago and they still hold on to few. However, they have questioned some of those practices BASED ON IGNORANCE, and were finally able to do better by replaced the bad with the good!!!! these circumcisions are done in unnecessarily, terrible conditions. In a modern world with hospital facilities, you cannot justify this practice when some of those men have lost their genitalia due to bad operations!!! It is also perpetrating the culture of male supremacy base on violence and machismo!!!! This is a school where man learned to keep woman in their place!!!!! Violence against woman in South Africa is high thanks to this kind of practices!!! CULTURE DOESN’T MAKE MAN, MAN MAKE CULTURE. OFTEN THOSE CULTURES ARE FRUITS OF OUR IGNORANCE. AND WHEN WE KNOW BETTER WE CHANGE IT JUST TO ADAPT TO OUR TIME .

As black young Xhosa women we are taught at a very yang age to respect our culture and traditions not matter what belief systems we fall under as we grow older. It is our duty to be izikhukhukazi and protect our traditional practices. If you are an African you believe in the richness of our 4 fathers whether usindisiwe or not you will question the making of this film and hopefully understand where i am coming from and fight against this disrespect.
