Once again a great film which has a powerful message is trashed by those looking for sex and not the important issues surrounding a kid raised in a Christian family having to deal with this issue. Stephen Cone, the director is the son of a preacher and he is married to a wonderful wife. Cone is one of the unique independent film makers because he really doesn't bash anybody. He sets up his characters and shows mostly the inner-conflict going on beneath the surface. In that vein I am very happy because he masters what foreign films seem to catch while films in the US tend to be very shallow. I have been a Cone fan since The Wise Kids and I will continue to be a FB fan and look forward to seeing more of his work.

STEPHEN CONE, I just watched this film last night on Netflix and I'm here to tell you, should I ever have the opportunity to meet you face to face, the FIRST thing I'm gonna do is HUG you. And hella TIGHTLY, too! Man, I truly cared about these characters. And I APPLAUD you for giving EVERY, SINGLE actor a moment. That makes actors feel like they're making a real contribution to a production. I'm soooo thankful there were no throwaway "Hot Bikini Girl" roles. BRAVO, man! Simply BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I'll have to graduate from the short films I've written (available on Vimeo, of course - Ha!) and write a feature!!!!! Again, BRAVO!!!!!!!

1:01:48 I love that line so much. 'Christ teachs us to love everyone' I am straight and I think being gay is not a sin. God hates no one.

I can clearly see the evolution of gay movies. Early movies are so tragic and most are unhappy ending. But later gay movies are more romantic and more friendly. Nowadays people are more gay friendly and more tolerance to LGBT people. It is the greatest thing. If someone hate gay, he/she will be seen as a narrow-minded person by most people. Henry didn't even know his friend is lesbian. haha

Rikcy's story had me in tears. What a stunningly artistic and yet accurate emulation of reality.

this was such an amazing movie, i really loved it, the acting, music and the way it was filmed was beautiful. Wish there was a second film, I'm from a christian family and I can say many things were covered up/ignored like what happened in this movie, Especially with the depressed boy, hit me in the feels <3
