Description After the California Supreme Court ruled in May 2008 that same-sex couples could marry, a proposition was put to voters to amend the state constitution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. After that proposition was passed a group decided to challenge the constitutionality of the amendment. This documentary follows the efforts of the plaintiffs and lawyers over four years as the case winds its way through the courts.

If the Supreme Court hadn't overturned Prop 8 and section 3 of DOMA, then I think same-sex marriage in the United States would've failed. Because you would've said, "This would've never happen. Gay marriage is wrong. A man and a woman should marry each other." Reply back if you agree with me!

How about equal rights for people but not special rights. These days it seems people want to force society to accept certain lifestyles. People have a right I oppose what the do not like. Currently if you oppose something you are phobic to that subject.

People are so quick to condemn someone for disagreeing with any subject. What happened to freedom of speech? A man and a man cannot produce a child nor can two women, therefore, they can do nothing to help society. On the other hand you want to be gay do it without trying to make the world think not is normal cause it is not. Do what you do, let those of us who oppose it be.

I find it so incredibly stupid that people feel the need to have a say in how someone is meant to live their life. Yes they may be gay, what's your point? so what? These ignorant asshole's use the bible and the excuse of their children being raised into a terrible society, when showing our children that we cant accept people for who they are is where society is going wrong. Fuck what you think is right, we should be able to choose how we live our lives. You want to have rights and show equality and raise our kids into a bright and successful future? How about accepting what cant be changed. Showing them even though we might not be able to agree with what occurs, for the happiness and well being of others we have to.
