Sad story, but a dull movie.

In a lot of movies Sal would get shot and it was usually in the guts. Sad that his life ended so tragically.

I saw this movie and I am not going to judge it bad as a fact. In my opinion, i did find the movie interesting. I like how the movie looked 80s or early 90s like. I didn't know who Sal is, so that was another factor that kept me watching the movie. The movie turned into a bore when they were in the theater. I felt dragged and honestly, the trailer manipulated me: (spoiler but trust me read it and you will thank me) the part when the guy tells the guy "you are a queer," that was in the theater. That jock or bully was reading a damn line. He wasn't speaking from his character's heart. He was reading from the character in the play. And that took the realness and sadness that the scene can actually bring. It is hard to explain because the entire movie is scripted. But when a movie is based off of someone, you interpret what you see is real. But to me.....if i find out that you are reading a takes that "real" away. The ending was "quick" for me and i didn't like it. I did appreciate the movie showing real footage of Sal Mineo.  Do i recommend this movie...if you like Sal. I honestly felt like i wasted my time. And that isn't necessarily a bad thing but in this case...mostly it is. A little bit, no.

The person in these comments vainly insisting James Dean was not gay is in denial- yes, he had female relationships and girls may have been his primary interest, but it's been confirmed by so many who knew him in NYC that he did in fact have male relationships, it's commonly accepted now. Saying otherwise just because you don't want it to be true makes zero sense.
