Fuck yeah I stumbled twice over Neil Andrew Megson. First through the movie soundtrack "Enter the void" and the second time via the new NIN album. If you guys don't know that track you should check it out immediatly! It's "While I'm Still Here (Breyer P-Orridge 'Howler' Remix)". I listen to that shit in a loop and even wrote the "lyrics" for the remix on the nin wiki as a tribute. They both seem to be very intresting and I'm also into that "Throbbing Gristle - Discipline" song, yo!

how can anybody doubt about the influence of TG in contemporary music, it's hard to believe. it's not only recognised by many bands, they made Industrial Records, that's like Trojan Records for the skinneds, a foundamental piece of cultural history. not only artists, also fucking great curators.

thanks 4 the name of the book !

Before TG and Cabaret Voltaire there was no Industrial music. They were considered Industrial even by 1978. Who do you call "the founders"?

Anyone interested in Genesis P.Orridge's art and music during the 60's/70's/80's should absolutely read The Wreckers of Civilization : The Story of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle. An amazing book.

the bottom line is they sold thousands of albums have appeared in numerous documentaries and are loved by thousands- ie a cult following- they have made an impact whether you think it or not- when you do something equal on an artistic or musical level let me know-
  • salvadory 2013-01-13 18:54:16
no it doesnt - i know plenty of great bands that get less views because people are busy watching stupid cat videos and lady gaga videos on youtube- the best things in life are often those that are overlooked- the best albums i own never charted and are rather "unknown" - not because they are not good but because they dont cater to lowbrow sheep and redundancy
  • SWMrules 2013-01-13 08:03:14
Oh yea it's really impressive considering your average funny cat video has half a million views. Well it does prove my point that they have no talent when I cat can pull in more viewers.

ask joy division nine inch nails - modern film composers etc who throbbing gristle and genesis p orridge mean- because they dont matter to you means nothing- id say 15000 views for a documentary trailer is pretty good unless your comparing it to idiots like beiber and lady gaga views
  • salvadory 2013-01-13 06:22:20
bs becuase you know little of a movement means nothing- im not deep into industrial style music personally but they are about the biggest figureheads of the movement- theyve been in a ton of dcs covering the form of music- and every industrial fan i know knows all about them

The word "art" is so loosely thrown around now and days. Someone shits on a canvas and it's called art. First of all I didn't even know it was a guy but now I'm sure that's why HE is considered artistic. Second they are not considered the "founders" of industrial music they are considered ONE of the many bands that influenced THE FOUNDERS of industrial music. Who cares who they were influenced by. The fact remains no one knows these losers as proved by the low views of anything mentioning them.
  • salvadory 2012-12-27 23:37:14
actually they are noted as the founders of industrial music - theyve done far more then you and i will ever accomplish in art and music - genesis has been in many documentaries from music to sociology and is an artist without doubt- whether or not you like his music is irrelevant- hes undoubtably a creative original

    looks fantastic!
  • Paul Hitch 2012-11-02 19:25:37
This is cool, if there were more bands out there like TG music would be much more exciting than it is today.
  • SWMrules 2012-11-02 05:10:52
That didn't smash a hole into anything much less Rock music. They fucking suck and no one knows them and no one ever will regardless of whether or not they make a shit ass movie about them. Fucking idiots getting way to much attention.
