I guess I always knew that I was different. My how and why occurred at a much younger age than Vincent's. I'm unaware that anyone of my contemporaries ever knew. I certainly never felt any compulsion to tell anyone. I didn't seem to need a lover, even thinking back on it now after so many years. I've only had a lover on occasion, and never for any extended period of time, at least it never worked out that way. I was 42 when I told my parents. For my Mom, it was no surprise. My Father couldn't conceive of the word gay, and refused to understand homosexual even to his deathbed. His understanding was never required. To all of you that are experiencing the pangs, I sincerely wish you well... RobtheElder
