This is the original trailer for the 1944 classic film of the supernatural,"The Uninvited". It was,and still is,one of the greatest ghost stories ever filmed. It has a magnificent cast-Ray Milland,Ruth Hussey,Donald Crisp,Cornelia Otis Skinner, and introduced to cinema audiences Gail Russell in her first starring role. This was the film that launched the young, nineteen year old starlet into movie stardom. The film also introduced film goers to Victor Young's famous song,"Stella By Starlight",which the film composer wrote especially for the character played by Gail Russell, Stella Meredith, and who is now forever associated with that song. If you wish to know more about Gail Russell,JC Publications has now published my biography of Gail Russell,"Fallen Star",and is now available on Amazon.com,and Barnes and Noble Booksellers.

Beyond any doubt this is the best ghost story ever committed to film. The special effects were minimal but extremely well placed. The acting and filmography were exceptional. It didn't need CGI it used talent instead.

The best ghost story so far! Not at all cheesy . Can't get a copy of it anywhere . Although I do have it on vhs . Maybe I can get it transferred. By the way the doctor is played by Alan Napier, the original alfred the butler of batman fame

I hate it when people say The Haunting is the best ghost film ever made. The Uninvited and The Innocents out-do any ghost film by miles! Love this movie and so glad Criterion is giving this the HD treatment is deserves! British suspense FTW!

    Next Year in Jerusalem (1997)

The oldest son in an orthodox Jewish family is living at home (in Brooklyn) with his parents and younger brothers. He's being pressured by his parents to marry the girl they have chosen, (the daughter of a rabbi). But he is coming to the realization that he is gay. When he becomes reacquainted with a school hood friend that has moved into Greenwich Village and come out (at least to himself), our hero begins to come out to himself as well.
