Some people love to hurt others because of a personal defect within themselves. If they didn't have gay men and women to hurt they would pick on people because of their color or size or ethnicity or for any reason at all. Think about it. Hating gays began way back when the Jewish tribes decided that a bigger tribe had a better chance against other tribes or nations because they lived in a dangerous area of the world at a dangerous time in history. The Christians copied the Jews and the Moslems copied both of them. I can accept that being gay is as natural as being heterosexual but then I am fairly bright thoughtful kind of person. I accept that there are others who had different upbringing to myself who are less bright or less thoughtful than I but what I cannot accept is that they have to propitiate their neuroses by violence against other people sometimes since they are cowardly as a group.

    We Were Here (2011)

'We Were Here' is the first film to take a deep and reflective look back at the arrival and impact of AIDS in San Francisco, and how the City's inhabitants dealt with that unprecedented calamity. It explores what was not so easy to discern in the midst of it all - the parallel histories of suffering and loss, and of community coalescence and empowerment. Though this is a San Francisco based story, the issues it addresses extend not only beyond San Francisco but also beyond AIDS itself. 'We Were...
