I am a retired trial attorney who suffered a very rare stroke just prior to the release of this movie and in a case "of life imitating art" was laid-off by my law firm in a fashion very similar to what was portrayed in this movie on October 14, 1993 .(Ironically twenty-three years ago today.) The question posed by Tom Hanks, "You're not firing me, are you?", portrays exactly....I mean EXACTLY what I felt at that moment when I was "fired" (Actually laid-off and to activate my disability insurance.) I can re-call seeing commercials for the film featuring that Tom Hanks line , but IMDB says that the film was not released until December. Can somebody who knows more about the film and its pre-release publicity tell me if I am "misremembering"? When was the advertising that contained that scene released?

i wish Tom Hanks would do another queer role, this film helped me come to terms with being gay because of how Hanks' character was represented and how he played him as an average, rounded, yet very intellectual man. But (SPOILER ALERT) I wish for him to play a queer character who doesnt die, who gets a happy ending. I think since he's older now it'd be even more re-assuring to lgbt kids since we so rarely see happy/not-dead queer men. This is still one of my favourite films of all time, and Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors!

They don't make movies or actors like this anymore, and the music...Springsteen, Young, etc...amazing.

It really makes me sick that the lawyers in this movie care more about their insecurity than justice. Many lawyers are so deranged they have come to believe that the practice of law is just about making money instead of justice, and they've actually convinced society that that is alright.

2:35 - :38 Spineless Moronic fools. They lied about this and knew it. They, as far I know, didn't even see a doctor.
