Description "Frida" chronicles the life Frida Kahlo shared unflinchingly and openly with Diego Rivera, as the young couple took the art world by storm. From her complex and enduring relationship with her mentor and husband to her illicit and controversial affair with Leon Trotsky, to her provocative and romantic entanglements with women, Frida Kahlo lived a bold and uncompromising life as a political, artistic, and sexual revolutionary.

I wish my name was from Frida Kahlo but sadly my mom had a dog named Frida and my dad had a cat named Frida so that's where my name is from...

i loved this movie. The director Julie Taymor obviously is very inspired by Frida and Salma Hayek does an amazing job. Frida was an incredibly strong woman who was in constant pain for most of her life. She was resilient and free and courageous a real artist, her love life with Diego was quite tragic. She lived big and has inspired millions of women.

I loved this movie! I do admit it doesn't ring entirely true, but it is still a beautiful piece of cinema that does outline and put forth a very important woman of our time! The details that were left out can always be learned! (unfortunately, but atleast theres a movie at all!)

Que joda venir a hacer una película TAN mexicana en ingles. Le resta. Como si no fuera lo suficiente la historia que relata para venderla a cualquier idioma, cualquier país.

How interesting, most biographys mainly talk about her terrible health and isolation, this makes her look like she was very able bodied and very social...
  • Cami DF 2015-08-17 23:55:56
Her life was not a romance. The trailer is focussing in frida and diego's relationship when in fact this was the less interesting part of her story. There is so much more than that. The movie is great, don't get me wrong, but the trailer takes all the beauty of it.

I'm american, but to make it more realistic, this movie should've been made in Spanish with English subtitles. Like for example the passion of the Christ.

Sorry sir her murals are so whack, covered colored tuff dude. All I gotta see her stupid unibrow as a symbol of McDonald's all over her canvas, then I gotta see all her murals one side to another multiple.

I loved this movie. We watched it in Spanish class. I think it's a very well made movie, and I think Frida Khalo is a very interesting person.
