dont get me wrong, steve carrell had an amazing performance. However, Mark Ruffalo as Dave Schultz was more memorable for me.

Not to detract from Carell's performance but after watchin the film it was Mark Ruffalo that mesmerized me! He got Dave Shultz's mannerisms, body language even his hunched wrestler WALK down perfectly! Little things Ruffalo did like for example when Dave first arrives at the farm and goes to see Mark at his home...when they speak at the door and the way Dave quirks/tilts his head ever so slightly when Mark responds "everything is fine" shows Dave KNOWS that Mark is lying to him...BRILLIANT! Such things may seem trivial but it's lil actions like THAT which separate good actors from amazing ones! It also exemplifies the kind of caring man Dave Schultz was; THAT is probably the highest compliment Mark Ruffalo could deservedly earn.

One thing that i kind of hated about this movie and felt that there was a huge piece missing is that it never showed the downfall of john, in ESPN's documentary mark and everybody that lived with john talked about his mental state going downhill, how he became paranoid and felt that there was a threat on the farm. How he militarized the land by building huge fences and having guns everywhere, they also didnt show in this movie about how he had hours of these weird tapes of john basically filming tree's and trying to watch them move. It also never showed how john was too clingy to mark and thats why he was upset with him

I am so proud of our school to be in the move, which is the gymnasium scene with the bunch of wooden chairs. It was an awesome experience having a movie produced during school.

Carell looks uncannily like John Du Pont. Wow. The doco on Netflix is really quite good, I think. :)

    Can't Stop the Music (1980)

In this pseudo audio biography of the Village People, Jack Morell (a thinly disguised caricature of the group's founder, Jacques Morali) is a struggling composer desperate to gain fame with his songs, but all he needs is a group to sing them. With the help of his roommate Samantha and a lawyer named Ron, Jack forms a group of six "macho men" from his Greenwich Village neighborhood, and the rest of the film details their rise to fame from New York City to a climatic concert in San Francisco.
