Let's not forget. There are kids who have feelings for adults which is what this movie shows. It doesn't mean it is ok to act out on those feelings but rather that adult and child are at different maturity levels. I thought it was an interesting movie as it not only challenges gender roles (typical role of young girl in love with older man) but also same sex love.

While I do agree that the Idea of a adult having those kind of *um* feelings for a kid is a bit creepy, I don't think that this movie is sending a message saying that pedophilia is okay or anything like it. All the movie is doing is doing a story about love, that's it. Some movies show action flicks with people blowing up buildings and shooting people, but are they saying the terrorism and violence is okay? I don't think so.

@DieterGieseking toll? mit Verlaub, ich finde das Filmthema seeeehr delikat. Grenzbereich zwischen Pädophilie und Pädosexualität. Hier das Edle, dort das Kriminelle.

    Two Spirits (2009)

Filmmaker Lydia Nibley explores the cultural context behind a tragic and senseless murder. Fred Martinez was a Navajo youth slain at the age of 16 by a man who bragged to his friends that he 'bug-smashed a fag'. But Fred was part of an honored Navajo tradition - the 'nadleeh', or 'two-spirit', who possesses a balance of masculine and feminine traits. Through telling Fred's story, Nibley reminds us of the values that America's indigenous peoples have long embraced.
