Description In late 1955 and early 1956, the citizens of Boise, Idaho believed there was a menace in their midst. On Halloween, investigators arrested three men on charges of having sex with teenage boys. The investigators claimed the arrests were just the tip of the iceberg-they said hundreds of boys were being abused as part of a child sex ring. There was no such ring, but the result was a widespread investigation which some people consider a witch hunt. By the time the investigation ended, 16 men were charged. Countless other lives were also touched. In some cases, men implicated fled the area. At least one actually left the country. The investigation attracted attention in newspapers across the nation, including Time Magazine. The "Morals Drive" left scars which remain to this day.

Marlette782 — Jim Sales, the last of the prosecuted men died in 2008. He's buried in Boise's Morris Hill Cemetery, about fifteen feet from his childhood friend Joe Gough, the first of the prosecuted men to die. Julia Davis Park is no longer a cruising location like it was in 1955...

There was no "Big Queen." The investigator, William Fairchild, used that as an investigative tactic. Mel Dir, the last man arrested, said of his interrogation, "First they told me they understood I was the ringleader of this so-called teenage sex ring… that I was the instigator of all this… they were going to ask for life in prison for me because I was the ringleader… of course this was just to upset me and scare me and get me to talk." Fairchild apparently used this tactic on others.

To people who live in Boise now if any of the guys in the scandal are still living? Also does this still go on in Julia Davis park in Boise?

So who was the Queen? These prominent names come to mind. Manville, Morrison, Albertson, Church and Simplot. Can anyone else think of any who would be recognized in a heartbeat?
