Fagbug was so touching. I was moved. I am a the only bi Mormon who believes in equal rights in my town. Watching your first film gave me confidence. I hope after college, I go on a road trip with my car which have equal rights and the pride rainbow flag on it. Thank you for opening doors, for all of us.

I saw the fagbug on my college campus (Dixie State College) awhile ago. It was the first I heard of you, but I thought it was amazing. Just watched your first film on Netflix - you are amazing.

Ultimately I'm going to have to wait to see the film but my initial response is pretty negative.  This is an area where the gender someone was assigned at birth actually does seem to matter.  As a gay man I find your usage of this term pretty offensive.  Perhaps even more so because a person who presents as a cisgendered female is driving this car.  You are appropriating and reclaiming a pejorative term that I believe you cannot fully understand.  While not exactly the same thing, your driving this car is kind of  like a person of Asian descent driving around a car that says, "N***bug."  In my opinion this is an inappropriate cultural appropriation.  You are taking something that doesn't belong to you.  You are benefitting at the expense of thousands of boys and men who have been cruelly subjected to and abused by this word.  It is their word to reclaim and use (and not yours). Nevertheless, I hope that some good and additional social awareness comes of this film.  Regardless of my initial critique and rather negative impression of your project I wish you folks the best of luck!

Can't wait to see this.  As a filmmaker myself and a gay man, thank you for this.  Your art is hopefully changing and shaping the conversation and that's pretty awesome!
