Description For Shirin, being part of a perfect Persian family isn't easy. Acceptance eludes her from all sides: her family doesn't know she's bisexual, and her ex-girlfriend, Maxine, can't understand why she doesn't tell them. Even the six-year-old boys in her moviemaking class are too ADD to focus on her for more than a second. Following a family announcement of her brother's betrothal to a parentally approved Iranian prize catch, Shirin embarks on a private rebellion involving a series of pansexual escapades, while trying to decipher what went wrong with Maxine.

This is a wannabe Kissing Jessica Stein only much, much worse. The main character has zero redeeming qualities, is not interesting in the least, and is quite unlikable. What a terrible waste of time unless you're also an unsuccessful hipster loser who blames the world for having such a shitty outlook on life. The only difference is the actress/writer/director made a moderate amount of money from this movie while real hipsters are generally poor.

Funny and cute, but highly overrated! It aways gets an extra star because it deals with the gay lifestyle. Properly rated on its true theatrical merits... maybe ~ 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this movie, but in trying to represent every version of women's sexuality/identity spread it a little thin. But the movie was great in expressing issues of suppressing our sexuality. The very best part was the scene where the sales woman talks smack about her ex to up sell her on a bra. Flat chested women unite! Hilarious!

This is a masterpiece, but the trailer can't even remotely give back the atmosphere and the rhytm of the screenplay, that's why many jokes seem dull, only because they're out of the context.

There are many "jokes" on the trailer that doesn't really work (like "I hate many things too"). And it has terrible acting.

"I hate so many things too" my new pick up line

I wanted to like this film, but it was just a half-baked vanity project that didn't go anywhere.

Attracted to the opposite sex = straight Attracted to the same sex = gay Attracted to yourself = bi

You can tell this film was written by someone with self-esteem issues from the first sentence of the trailer. No human being speaks that way unless they're desperate for approval.

I want to watch it. lol

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! It was funny & depressing, just great, I didn't want it to end :( Does anyone know of any similar moives?

This trailer makes it look so much more lighthearted and comical than it is. Don't get me wrong it's funny as fuck, but it's also super depressing and uncomfortably awkward and authentic. Seriously one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Loved it.

Terrible movie created with a political agenda in mind. I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Persian anymore because there is no Persia. It's obviously used to replace "Iranian." They don't want to be honest because it might scare people away. A terrible movie with no substance, no meat, just a weak story line to push an agenda
