I do not know , why this film hit me so hard in the eighties . Maybe it is , because it is tragic love story , that is doomed in the communist country , that was living hard times . It also shows , how the journalists had to carefully think , what they can say . Raise your voice and you are without work , or worse . Both actresses are excellent , but Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieślak 's acting as Eva is simply heart wrenching . When the two women can't resist the call of the passion , the scenes are made up with good taste an d finished with good piano music . There is no happy end . Eva's life as a passionate misfit gets an end , that is no surprise .
